What Sparked this Project:

One of my favorite podcasts to catch up with hoops is Numbers on the Board, hosted by Kenny, Mike, DMills, and Pierre. They cover everything from trades and signings to game-by-game analysis, and every now and then they quiz each other to see who’s the most locked in. My favorite is “CollegeCheck,” where Pierre names a random player and the others have to guess what college they went to.

As a self-proclaimed ballknower, mastering this niche trivia felt like bragging rights — so I started digging for APIs with player college data and eventually found one.

But I didn’t want to stop there. What if I built a collection of quizzes that tested every corner of the league — the kind of deep-cut knowledge only true hoop heads would know?

That’s the vision behind Airball: a site where elite ball knowers can put their basketball knowledge to the test.
